When I first saw Randy he was chained to a dog house. SCARS had taken over 30 dogs from this one yard. Randy happened to be part of a litter that we had taken from this yard when they were young pups, but the owners had to keep one and that one was Randy. So Randy grew up on a short chain with little-to-no socializing. We had to use tools to get the chain off his neck. It took months before Randy learned to trust and allow us to touch him. His best buddy is Della, who he has been with since he has been with SCARS. Today Randy is truly happy and very friendly with people he knows. He still has trust issues and likely always will. He does warm up fairly quickly but not immediately. Randy is a pleasure to foster. He is great off leash and enjoys his daily walks. He listens well and rarely leaves your side. He is house trained and enjoys being inside on his bed.
I’m a Sanctuary Animal
What’s a sanctuary animal? Sanctuary animals are permanent wards of SCARS due to medical conditions or behavioural issues and we are not likely to ever find an adoptive family.
SCARS is committed to giving these animals a home and the love, care and attention they deserve! We house them at our two main intake facilities.
We look to businesses to sponsor Sactuary Animals to help us offset the cost of housing them.
