"I lend my voice to animals because they don't have one. Every animal deserves a second chance." Suzie.
Suzie is celebrating her "Bat Mitzvah", which translates loosely as "daughter of the commandment" or "woman of duty", a time when adult reason and responsibility commence. As a part of that process it is traditional to perform "Tzedakah" which translates as an obligation to help those who need it, and do it with compassion and generosity. She intends to make blankets for Scars as her personal commitment and to raise awareness of the plight of the homeless and abused animals of Northern Alberta. Suzie says:

SCARS also accepts donations via Paypal. 100% of all donations go directly to support and care for our animals. Many of the animals in our care require urgent and ongoing medical attention. We always treat every animal who enters our society with the best in medical care. To view stories of some of the care our animal receive, please view our Rescue Stories. SCARS also is in the process of building a quarantine facility, which we estimate will cost $100 000.00. Many of the animals that arrive in our care have been exposed to contagious viruses such as Distemper or Parvo. To ensure that these animal do not pass along these deadly viruses, we quarantine these animals. However, currently, we do not have a special facility to do so and, instead, these animals take up runs that could otherwise be used to take in more animals. Your donation to this facility will allow us to create a special area for these animals so that we can continue to offer the same level of intake and housing for our healthy animals as well as ensuring that all our animals remain healthy while in our care.
